Federica began studying music at an early age, turning her attention to more serious studies at the age of 16, when she enrolled at the Accademia Musicale Paolo Chimeri, to study CLASSICAL GUITAR. Over the next three years she studied THEORY AND SOLFEGGIO, HARMONY AND MUSIC HISTORY. At the age of 19 she passed the entrance examination for the Conservatorio Dall’Abaco in Verona (Italy), CLARINET department, where she studied for five years, then transferring to the Conservatorio Monteverdi in Bolzano (Italy), so that she could study with Roberta Gottardi (First Clarinet in the Haydn Orchestra of Trento and Bolzano) and the famous conductor Gianluigi Zanghieri. She continued her studies of harmony and music history, obtaining the best results in her class. She attended ensemble, orchestra, chamber music and choral lessons. She succeeded in gaining admission to supplementary piano lessons, although this was not provided for in the academic programme. In the meantime she took private lessons from Giampiero Sobrino, First Clarinet in the Arena Orchestra in Verona. In 2001 she moved to Rome, where she was accepted by the University of Music, SINGING faculty, where she completed her studies of harmony, composition, music history and musical improvisation. She specialised in modern vocal technique. She attended courses with the singers Grazia di Michele and Rossana Casale. She won three full scholarships, two for the University of Music (2004-2005 and 2005-2006) and one to attend the summer courses of Berklee College of Music at Umbria Jazz in Perugia (2002), studying with Donna McElroy.
