Review About Me
I love to teach brass students of any age and level. My approach towards teaching emphasizes musicality overall, I aim to provide students with the tools to develop technical proficiency in service of the greater expressive qualities of music. I am influenced by great orchestral composers and performers, as well as rock, folk, jazz and popular musicians.
Laura Po. has over 12 years of music experience in the Cleveland Heights area.
Laura Po. is proficient in and teaches Orchestral Lessons .Formal Education:
I hold a Masters of Music Performance degree from the Rudi E. Scheidt School of Music at the University of Memphis, a Bachelors of Music Performance degree from the Thornton School of Music at the University of Southern California, and a Doctor of Music Arts degree from the University of Kansas School of Music. I have also been educated at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Performing Experience:
I have performed with orchestras, brass ensembles and bands all over the country including the Billings Symphony (MT), the Lafayette Symphony (IN), Kansas City Brassworks (KS), and the Appalachian Brass (TN).
Experience Teaching:
I have been teaching brass students for over ten years, in private lessons and school environments.
