I am a pianist and keyboardist specializing in classical styles and working as a performer in commercial, jazz and concert band music. I use the Piano Adventures method along with technological aids such as MIDI enabled acoustic grand pianos with PNOMation with software such as Jalmus. Students enjoy the technology and they speed through the basic stages very quickly. As the student becomes more comfortable with the basics of reading and theory, I focus on developing technique to perform with ease and confidence, while adding more advanced repertoire such as Bach Inventions and Sinfonias, Clementi Sonatinas, pop charts such as those by Coldplay, and other easy, appealing pieces in other styles or whatever the student brings in. Generally, my goal is to help the student develop a sense of the relationship between technique and sound, so that the student effectively has a sense of "perfect pitch," or an idea of how something should feel when it is played, and give them the tools they need to play any style.
