I've been playing for 40+ years. Teaching off and on for about 10 yrs. My influences are: Simon phillips, Carmine Appice, Virgil Donati, Billy Cobham. etc. Rudimental approach to the kit with different sound sources, Bass drum patterns applied to grooves. Broken singles, 3's 5's 7's etc. odd meter grooves, The use of dynamics and stick control. Helping students to stay focused on their technique.

Jeff S is proficient in and teaches Drum Lessons .Formal Education:
mostly self taught, I spent a little less than a yr. at Valley Jr. College in N. Hollywood/San fernando Valley, Cal. in the 70's.
Private Education:
Mostly self taught using drum books. Stick Control, Ted Reed books, Realistic Rock, Mirror image double bass drum exercises, and a host of others.
Performing Experience:
I've played with numerous cover bands and eventually had opportunities to play with members of very well known groups such as: Tim Bogart, Bassist for Vanilla Fudge, Scott Gorham, Guitarist for Thin Lizzy, Paul Shortino, Lead Singer for Rough Cutt, and Quiet Riot, And Deon Estus, Bassist for Wham/George Michael. Collaborated and helped arrange and performed the music for the group Hoodoo, On CD Baby.
Experience Teaching:
Off and on for about 10 years. I took on a small handful of new drummers who really wanted to learn. I love that. I'm at a point now that I really enjoy watching new players enjoy what I love to do. And are open to new ideas.
