Hello, my name is Paul. I have been playing guitar for 20 years. I have been teaching for 6 years. My influences include country, classic and alternative rock, and blues. I specialize in teaching acoustic guitar to the beginner/ intermmediate player. My methods involve a student learning to play through the students favorite songs. This keeps the student motivated to follow through, as opposed to giving up from the boredom of random chord memorization or nursery rhymes not normally useful to the average student. I also teach music theory so the student understands the "why" of what is played. Once a student is comfortably playing through songs and understands basic music theory; scales, arpeggios, embellishing, and introduction to lead, the basics of playing with other musicians is taught to round out a strong and firm foundation for the student to grow and build upon in any direction the student is willing to work towards. The sky really is the limit. Whether you want to be a strong lead guitarist or the strumming frontman of your band, the curriculum I teach will set you on the path to acheiving your goals!
