Tom, has studied under the world's best musicians in Canada and Scotland his entire life, and continues learning whenever he can. He has won several scholarships, at private schools where he then became an instructor. He has been a guest instructor at many colleges and universities as well as national Celtic schools and festivals. He started at a young age of 8 under world class private instructors, and never looked back. There is no doctorate in Celtic music available or he would surely have earned it. Due to his early success he was able to work with some of Canada's best musicians and producers, where he developed and perfected his abilities and knowledge.

Tom has been teaching since he was very young, due to his ability and a lack of instruction in his area. Tom has been a teacher at workshops and festivals in almost every state in the USA. He has influenced over ten thousand students, and developed some unique and very successful techniques including one of the top memorization techniques known today such as performance psychology, team development, studio strategies, and many other specialties.
