Ernesto S

Born in Sault Ste, Marie, Ontario, Ernesto S was introduced to music at age nine. Being the son of Italian parents, no child could go without the opportunity to play the accordion and this continued for seven years. After enduring a time when the accordion was not a sought after instrument among potential band-mates and hearing, “don’t call us, we’ll call you”, Ernesto’s desire to play in bands lead him to play bass. His interest in music lead him to play with a twenty-five piece jazz band, Country groups, Rock groups, and a Dixieland Jazz band. Through this time Ernesto became a member of AFM and also served as a Business Representative for Local 276. After enlisting with a show group out of Toronto, Canada, Ernesto toured the United States and Canada as a bassist / stage performer. Years later, returning to his home town and after working for the local steel mill a few years, Ernesto discovered his appetite for music and the business was not subsiding. At thirty-one Ernesto made the commitment to cut ties and embark on a music career. With encouragement from local musicians he applied, attended and later graduated from Berklee College of Music, Boston, MA. with a dual major Bachelor of Arts degree in music. While studying at Berklee as each school year concluded, Ernesto made the trek to Nashville to see all he had heard about. Before graduating it was decided, Nashville was the next move.
