Stephen U

Stephen is a versatile solo artist. He plays several musical instruments, including guitar and percussion. He also has extensive experience as a vocalist singing both lead and backup. Born in Nigeria, Stephen comes from a musical family. His uncles were well-known musicians and Stephens’ talent became evident very early. As a young boy, he began performing for local villagers. Later, he established a music workshop where he taught himself to play guitar. He also provided instruction for his friends. He was the founder and leader of the band “Rising Stars of Owerri”. He organized performances and developed an enthusiastic following among the citizens of his native Imo State. He performed as a solo artist at IBC (Imo Broadcasting Corporation) from 1985 to 1988. His program “The Young Generation Show” aired on Wednesday evenings from 7:30 to 8:30. When he first arrived in America, he joined “The Four J’s Band”. It was a five man group that played originals and cover songs. Stephen became their lead vocalist.
