I would start with the scales and breaking down the understanding of the circle of fifths in a more classical method of teaching. My personal experience in music has been with choir, trumpet (both classically trained), guitar, bass, extreme vocals, and currently keyboard in the band this company found me through--The Darkest Gray. I do not have formal experience teaching, but I know I'm more than capable of teaching new students. I also can sight read as well as have a trained ear by recording in our own studio.
