Teaching has been my passion for years and my primary employment since I graduated college. I was classically trained on the violin and continued to play in both orchestras in college as well as some chamber music. In addition to private jazz guitar study with Bob Sneider, I studied jazz improvisation, composition and arranging and played in the jazz band in college. I also enjoyed playing with the rock band Reverse Neutral Drive, numerous small jazz combos, and a bluegrass band. For five summers from 2005 to 2009 I was solely responsible for waterfront safety on over 500 feet of Lake Michigan beachfront. As part of this job I also taught windsurfing, kayaking and swimming to children and adults. I taught 16 students in and around Bethesda, MD the year after I graduated, and am hoping for even more now that I am permanently settled in Raleigh!
