I have performed in a wide variety of settings and genres. My first real stage performance came in the form of the rock opera, Tommy, which my high school performed. I was a member of the live band on stage that accompanied the cast. This was a very fulfilling experience and tested not only my skills in performance, but also in following a rigid score, which had to be performed perfectly in sync with the actors’ performances. My first full band experience was in a local rock band, La Bamba, who is now known as Junior Doctor. I played with them for over 2 years and we toured throughout the greater Orlando area. This not only gave me experience in performing at a professional level, but also gave me the experience I needed to be able to perform as an entertainer as well as a musician. In addition, I gained valuable studio experience when we went to Atlanta to record our EP with renowned producer Matt Goldman. After leaving the band, I continued to receive professional instruction in guitar playing, which eventually led me to apply to the highly respected Berklee College of Music in Boston. Following my acceptance, I joined a local cover band to further my skills before enrollment. This gave me new experience in vocal and guitar performance through playing extended sets, which included popular songs as well as heavy improvisation. This gave me more insight into my own guitar playing as well as how to create band dynamics.
