I started when I was 10 in Colombia south America at school, then I went to Instituto Cultural de Bogota taking guitar for 4 years. I came to live in Houston since 1982 then I started to play with different bands. After a few years I started to teach in a couple of Houston public School for about 5 to 6 years in a program called H.A.C.E.R. then I moved back to Colombia from 2003 to 2013 working for Escuela de Musica Santa Maria de Leyva, teaching guitar and other string instruments at several public schools. Then a year ago I came back to Houston.
Vilma Mo.- has over 10 years of music experience in the Grand Prairie area.
Vilma Mo.- is proficient in and teaches Guitar Lessons, Keyboard and Piano Lessons .Formal Education:
Houston Community College- 1 yr 1/2
Private Education:
Bogotá Cultural institute: accoustic guitar, ukelele and other plucked South American string instruments and also I studied at Houston Comunity college, music and grammar
Performing Experience:
I have performed since 1983 with several bands at different events such as private events, weddings, Festivals, restaurants, etc.
Experience Teaching:
I taught at Benavidez Elementary School and Kipp of Houston under a program called H.A.C.E.R. ( Houston Area Cultural and Educational Enrichment) sponsored by the Texas goverment for a couple of years. In Colombia, also I thaught for about 3 years at Escuela de Musica Nuestra Senora de Leyva. Plus I teach private lessons.
