My name is Jerrel and I am a guitar instructor. I enjoy passing on what I know to others. I was raised in the late 60's and 70's so I had the opportunity to follow and try to copy some of the greatest guitarist's in the business: Carlos Santanna,Jimi Hendricks,Jose Feliciano,and Eric Clapton just to name a few. I have logged thousands of hours with guitar in hand to become the very best I can be. I now have the opportunity to pass this knowledge on to my students. I am passionate about music and passionate about my instruments.I not only teach playing the guitar,I also teach how to take care of and maintain the instrument so it will be something my students will enjoy for a lifetime.

Jerrel Dr - is proficient in and teaches Guitar Lessons .Formal Education:
I took 1 class in theory at San Jacinto College in Houston.
Private Education:
My favorite uncle bought me a guitar when I was 8 years old and showed me how to play 3 or 4 songs. From there I am a self taught lead/rhythem acoustic or electric guitarist.
Performing Experience:
I grew up in Sheldon Woods,a subdivision on the east side of Houston where at the age of 12 me and some of the older boys there got a band together and started playing parties which paid $25.00 a nite for the band. At the age of 14 I played the school dances for 3 years. After I got out of high school I played different clubs and parties in and around Houston.I fell in with a lady named Valerie Mark and did some recording work as lead guitarist for her for a couple of years. At age 26 I started a family and had to start thinking about some higher paying work so I stopped playing seriously for about 7 years to work construction to provide for my family. At 38 years old I felt I was too old to try playing the club gigs so I just played for fun and this is when I really fell in love with music. My wife and I had 2 boys and when they're friends would come over they would ask me to teach them. After a while the parents got involved and started paying me.Soon after I was approached by the music store owner in Carthage,Tx to teach out of his store.I did that for a while and then decided to go out on my own.
Experience Teaching:
I started teaching in 1998 and found it is something I enjoy and will teach anyone that has the desire to learn. Any age!
