John teaches guitar for all levels, beginner to advanced, and also teaches beginner piano. After hearing Guns n Roses when he was 10 years old he was inspired to play guitar and has not stopped playing since. He plays and teaches metal, shred guitar, and classical pieces such as Bach or Mozart in the shred guitar style. John graduated with a BA in music from Sul Ross State University and took a course at the famous Musicians Institute in Hollywood,CA. He also studied under the famous Rusty Cooley. He has eight years teaching experience and has played with bands in live shows throughout Texas. He enjoys watching students progress musically and mastering new things.

What to expect in my Guitar Lessons

Starting out I teach the rough basics such as tuning,and then the proper way to hold the guitar and postioning your hands. Ive found that making sure that students get this down at the getgo greatly helps out later on.

've been a student of John's for about a year now and he has been a most excellent teacher. I was self taught for about a year and I could play chords and maybe a little bit of finger picking on my own, but other than that, I'd hardly call myself a guitarist or musician. With John, I've learned tons of theory, scales, keys, etc. technique, tapping, fast picking, sweeping, etc. and really cool songs I never thought I'd have been able to do without him helping me to realize I could.
