About Me

Daniel S was born to play guitar. As a young child, music caught Dan's attention and ever since the age of three guitar has been his life. After graduating high school in 2009, Dan moved to Saint Paul to attend McNally Smith College of Music for a B.M. in Guitar Performance. Though having a vision impairment Dan has kept a positive attitude and looked past the challenges he faced and uses that energy to strive to be a better musician. Dan's styles of playing include Blues, Classic Rock, Classical and Jazz.Dan graduated from McNally in April 2013. Dan will be returning to McNally in Fall 2014 to pursue a Masters degree in Guitar Performance. He is a part of a classic rock Funk Blues project called Suns of Soul with gigs booked weekly.

Daniel S has over 6 years of music experience in the River Falls area.

Formal Education:

Daniel S started college in 2009 at McNally Smith College of music in St Paul. He graduated in 2013 with his BM in Guitar Performance. He has also made the Deans list with a 3.65 GPA. Dan has studied theory composition and arranging as well as learning many different styles of music such as Rock, Jazz, Blues, Funk and many others.

Private Education:

Dan started music lessons at the tender age of eight and has taken lessons ever since all the way up to the end of his high school years. He has learned the basics of the guitar and some advanced techniques along with a few different styles of music. He knows how to read notation and tab at a advanced level.

Performing Experience:

Daniel has performed on stages since the age of eight in talent shows at his school to bar gigs at the Fine Line Music Cafe, Minnesota Music Cafe, Artists Quarter and many others. Performing is one of Dans passions. This way he can express his love for music and share it with the world.

Experience Teaching:

Dan has been teaching lessons since 2009 to children and adults from all ages and skill levels. He brings a possitive attitude and outlook to the teaching environment. He likes to taylor his lessons to the students needs and wants and does what ever he can to make the lesson fun an exciting both for the student and himself. Some of the areas that are focused on during his lessons are technique, sight reading, composition, improvisation and ear training and performance skills. He has been teaching since 2009 to present.
