I have been playing drums since the age of 15 and within one year began performing in clubs and at concerts in the Chicago area. Shortly thereafter, I decided to fine tune my playing and began studying with Pat Metheny’s drummer, Paul Wertico.

After high school I toured most of the United States culminating with a gig as Bo Diddley’s drummer. I returned to Chicago and continued to work regularly in the jazz and blues circuit as well as the city’s rich eclectic original & world music scene. In 1990 I decided to extend my musical influence to the west coast where I continued to study various playing styles and drum techniques with other accomplished drummers (Peter Erskine, Ralph Humphrey, Jeff Hamilton, Joe Porcaro, and Freddie Gruber).  In addition, I worked regularly as a professional drummer and percussionist in a multitude of venues (see attached resume).  I also taught music at the acclaimed Musician’s Institute in the Los Angeles.

Over the years I have worked with many different artists, playing, recording and touring with such names as: Al Wilson (“Show & Tell”), Otis Day (“Shout”), Spencer Davis (“Gimme Some Lovin”), Sugar Loaf (“Green- Eyed Lady), Patrick Moraz (Moody Blues; Yes), John Goodsall (Brand X), Debbie Reynolds, Bo Diddley, The Diamonds, Coasters, Platters, Jazz guitarist Ron Eschete, The Orchestra Surreal, and recently touring and recording with renowned baritone and Sony Jazz recording artist Jubilant Sykes as well as countless other solo artists and performances in and around California, Chicago and Colorado.  I have always maintained a high standard of professionalism and continue to be well regarded as a live and session musician by my peers.  My playing/performing offers versatility, creativity and the ability to make any musical situation groove.
