Bernard S.

A native of Atlanta, Georgia, Bernard S. is a professional percussionist who has traveled the world from Atlanta to Tokyo. He attended Clarkston High School in Clarkston, GA. While in high school, Bernard S. participated in many athletic and social groups outside of band. He ran track, wrestled, and was on both the swim and weight lifting team. Bernard S. was also a member of the Latin club and 4-H all while participating in the band all year long. Bernard S. was awarded the Coca-Cola Fine Arts Award for having the highest grade average from 9th-12th grade in the Fine Arts department. Once he finished high school, he was accepted into Norfolk State University where he marched with the Norfolk State University marching Spartan "Legion" Band from 2005-2008. While attending Norfolk State, Bernard S. was inducted into Kappa Kappa Psi national honorary band fraternity incorporated. Then he began to work with the theatrical production known as Drumline Live as a soloist and percussion tech. His college band director Dr. Sanford, selected him to be a guest Judge for a battle of the band in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands. When he returned to Atlanta, Bernard D. continued touring with Drumline Live for three more years. Then he became a member of the Atlanta Hawks Drumline and also a percussion instructor at South Gwinnett High School. In 2014, Bernard S. was hired by Universal Studios Japan (USJ) as a musician. He lived in Osaka, Japan for 10 months and plans to return in the fall of 2015. Bernard S. has contributed his talents to numerous schools and organizations with adolescents ranging from elementary to college. His Motto is; "Music Charms The Soul".
