About Me

Top notch Professional, knowledgeable, gifted Producer/engineer/arranger/studio-live musician/vocal coach with major label musical/studio production know-how that is currently available to take in new clients(single artists or bands) and/or vocal/ musical instrument students. Currently also work in artist management(Endeavor Artist Mgt.,Dallas). Have helped a lot of Texas artists sound their best and have begun working with Nashville and LA artists/singer-songwriters and their artist management companies.

I'm easy going with a professional work ethic and very high personal integrity rarely seen in the music biz committed to getting great music production and sound during and after sessions. This music/recording professional has had hands on with audio tape recorders and music since the age of 8! Available to work with record labels, independent artists, bands or any artist management/development company that is seeking a high level no nonsense producer and/or vocal coach with Ears of Experience and the knowledge to deliver a hit sounding production in your hands. I work with most all of the popular music styles and understand their production needs for hit status on a major level. Currently not working with metal or anything hardcore.

I am also considered and have worked hard to be known as one of the best pop, country , folk and R&B vocal coaches anywhere. This is a huge asset when I produce vocal tracks. My country, R&B and pop-rock/gospel production skills and musical know how are about as sharp as anybody's in the industry.

I also have been for a few years corresponding with an internationally known successful British producer [for Leo Sayer] and who has also worked with Paul McCartney in studio production and do some A&R scouting for his international artist music T.V.,and, as one major Nashville entertainment company puts it, I achieve 'Big Boy' work...thanks Nashville!

Formal Education:

Completed High School and have some college. I am also considered and have worked hard to be known as one of the best pop, country, folk and R&B vocal coaches anywhere. This is a huge asset when I produce vocal tracks. My country, R&B and pop-rock/gospel production skills and musical know how are about as sharp as anybody's in the industry.

Private Education:

Lots of that through all of my life which has been music.

Performing Experience:

I have been working in music playing gigs since I was 10 yrs old [kiddie band I headed up playing keys/guitar and singing] and was born into a professional musical family. Mother was a high school concert, marching band as well as choir director w/ masters degree +30hrs. She was considered a classical virtuoso on both flute and piano in her hey day and sat first chair in symphony orchestra on flute. At the age of fifteen I played trumpet in a 50 piece symphony orchestra and also in night clubs with bands more than good enough to open up for groups such as Allman Bros, the Blues Brothers and most any commercial top-40 major hit making band.

At the age of 17 [1973] and a senior in high school my then manager got me the gig to open up for Joe Cocker, Dr.John and Millie Jackson with my back up band. At twenty two I was recruited to play keyboards with both George Recelli[Johnny and Edger Winter/ Bob Dylan and David Hyde[Bassist]. Soon after that star. Signed on to an indie label in 75' and released a 12” vinyl LP. Started engineering small sessions in New Orleans in 78'. Started working as a professional record producer in 81'. Engineering 24 trk MCI/Trident gear in 86'. In 91' worked as the engineer for demo sessions of the Mighty Clouds of Joy with Richard Gibbs(son of Inez Andrews..2000' gospel Hall of Fame inductee) and I've engineered one of the Gap band singers at about that same time period. At that time I was mentored by a former RCA Records producer who enlightened me on the key aspects of artist management as well as other music biz things I needed to know.

Review:

Doug C.

I have two kids who are performing musicians. I have been so lucky to find someone who has the experience and knowledge to teach my kids real world technical and performance skills. My kids play multiple instruments so it is great that Doug has the expertise in drums, keys, guitar and vocals to instruct and guide them. I appreciate that Doug truly cares that they progress and grow as musicians. Jeff M. wrote on Sat, 08 Aug 2015
