About Me

Vocal Instructor for adults, teenagers and children in the Blues, Rock n Roll, R n B, Soul, Pop, Country, Broadway, Show tunes, Swing, Jazz, Funk, Folk, Classics, Standards etc... Lead Singer, Recording Artist and Touring Musician. I have toured and shared stages with: B.B. King, Legendary Blues Guitarist Johnny Winter. (Johnny won a Grammy for his latest CD Step Back for "Best Contemporary Blues Album"). I also have performed w the incredibly talented Ian Anderson (Jethro Tull) plus opened for Soulman The Wicked Wilson Pickett 1 year before he passed away. Wilson's performance that night was tremendous! A night I will always remember!! :) Other folks we did shows with include: George Thorogood & The Delaware Destroyers, James Cotton, John Hammond Jr., Tommy Castro, Michael Burkes, Irma Thomas, Shemekia Copeland n more... I had the wonderful opportunity to perform with Guitarist Sam Andrew who was one of two original Guitarists in the Band Big Brother and The Holding Company. Janis Joplin came to California to join Big Brother as their Lead Singer! I have 5 CD's out, one of which was produced by Drummer and Songwriter and Grammy nominated producer Tom Hambridge and recorded in Nashville, Tennessee. There is also a Live CD recorded from our opening for B.B. King. You can find Live Recordings of me singing on Youtube & Studio Recordings.

Hi!! My w Students!! This is what you should absolutely know about me Susan as a person,as a Vocal Teacher and as a Blues Soul Singer! I am very very passionate, about my Music. I.love singing, love music, love making music, ????????!! I love learning more n I love teaching and working with people...adults,teens and children who have the passion n the drive and love for music as much as I do!!! I have the knowledge n experience to really help you or your child get results,and absolutely enjoy learning to make music and singing. Learn how to become less shy singing, have more confidence and build your self esteem. Find your own voice. Build your range,your style,learn how to belt be soulful n.just sound technically perfect but dry n boring. Let me tell you something now: You are Not born with an amazing, perfect sounding, 4 octave Voice. It simply takes time n commitment from you, and no giving up, It takes ????Believing in yourself Unwind and negative tapes in your head. You can do this!! So forget any past possible negative or discouraging comments someone may have said to you growing up when you were trying to learn to sing by maybe that Elementary School Music Teacher or whoever else said: "Oh you can't do that!!! Your pitch is terrible!!" Let thier negativity fly out the Window. It's doing you no good,and just making you feel bad still today possibly. You can improve your pitch. Almost Everybody can Sing better with work. It takes some dedication and time. Maybe you were lucky and nurtured and encouraged and that's what you need. Positivity!! A voice can be built but it takes work and not giving up and a positive attitude. Rome was not built in a day and neither were the best Singing Voices that you love listening to.. Are you in?? Susan taught at the Amherst Red Barn Music School for over ten years. Her students have blossomed as singers and in their love of music. She shares her deep love and knowledge of music and really gets her students singing. In Amherst, Susan's students have, year after year, won the Amherst Idol and other competitions, or just enjoyed singing for themselves, friends, and family.
