Carina P
15 + Years
During my 15 plus years of teaching violin, I worked in a variety of class settings (public and private school as well as in private offsite lessons), using different teaching styles with a wide range of student levels (beginners to undergraduates) and ages (3 to adult). Through these experiences, I have become very flexible and improvisational in my educational approach, and am open to learn and adjust to new and uncertain work environments, perhaps more easily than most. Also, since I’m originally from Brazil but have lived in both the U.S and England, I have had ample opportunities to learn about other cultures, and have found it interesting to relate to them through music. I find that music is a “common currency” that links all of us. Music is very important to the musical and developmental experiences of students, and can bridge divides between cultures and belief systems. I have reinforced my belief that music helps children to become well-rounded students by enabling them to interact creatively with the world around them. I had originally planned on a performance career, but the more I worked as music educator, the more I felt that education was my “true calling”.
Carina P has over 15 + years of music experience in the Tulsa area.
