Andreas S.

Beginning at the age of 9 in a drumline, Andreas has developed a versatile and open drum sound, leading him to successful artistic collaboration with various notable artists coming from many different stylistic backgrounds, such as Jazz, Blues, Funk, Country, World, Pop, Singer/Songwriter and Gospel. His subtle yet tight style of accompaniment, employing a host of creative percussion instruments, endears him to singers looking for a groovy rhythm. He is the co-founder of the Nu Jazz group Motek, for which he both composes and arranges. Andreas developed his individual sound through studies at New York’s Drummers’ Collective, pursuing a BA at Berklee College of Music in Boston, and receiving a Master in music education at the Zurich Conservatory. He also studied the cajon at the Taller Flamenco in Seville (Spain). In his various studies, Andreas has had the opportunity to study under renowned teachers such as Joe Hunt, Jamey Haddad, Ian Froman, Marcello Pellitieri, Kennwood Dennard, Kim Plainfield, Duduka Da Fonseca, Robby Ameen and Zach Danzinger. Originally from Swizterland Andreas has performed throughout Europe at different acclaimed jazz and rock clubs, as well as festivals. He has been living in Denver, CO for more than a decade to join his wife.
