I have been playing professionally professionally for 20 years and teaching professionally for 13.I went to school at McNally Smith College of music where I studied Percussion performance and Music Business for 4 years. During that time I was able to play/tour with rock bands, blues bands, percussion ensembles, show choirs, New Orleans style brass bands, among many others.

What to expect in my Drum Lessons
Beginner - Intermediate - Advanced
Students should expect to learn anything from basic coordination exercises, to advanced grooves.
Formal Education:
I studied Percussion Performance/ Music Business at McNally Smith College Of Music. Also Music Business at Berklee College of music.
Private Education:
I have studied with John Stolfe, Dave Hanzel, Dave Stanoch, Reid Kennedy, Dave Schmalenberger, and Gordy Knudtson of the Steve Miller Band.
Performing Experience:
I have had the experience of wearing many hats in the performing world. I have played in Jazz Ensembles, Rock Bands, Blues Bands. I have played as a percussionist in a number bands, and percussion ensembles.
Experience Teaching:
I have taught marching, and drumset percussion for 13 years in Northern Illinois.

Hello, My name is Tom Kelleher. I have known Sam for a little under 2 years. In that time, he has proven himself a wealth of knowledge in regards to music. His drumming is very precise but with an uncanny ability to be varied both stylistically and complexity-wise. Sam knows very well when to show off his large skill set and when to play simple parts. I have had the pleasure of writing music with him and his knowledge goes beyond the drum set. He is able to help structure and write songs involving guitar parts and vocal melodies much like a professional producer.
