Wonderful teacher for young beginners
Nigel taught violin to my 6 year old daughter this past year, and was incredibly kind and patient with her. She had never played before, but wants to be like Alison Krauss when she grows up so decided she wanted to learn the violin! She made such progress in a short amount of time with Nigel, and she was so happy after the first day when she came home to show us that she could actually make a nice noise on the strings with the bow! Nigel kept the pace such that she kept interest without feeling overwhelmed. Thank you Nigel, for starting her (hopefully) lifelong path in music. Kim Hoyle wrote on Mon, 30 May 2016
Violin lesson
Nigel is very talented and has a simplistic yet thorough teaching style that allows him to easily convey the art of playing to all those he teaches. Nigel has the patience and understanding that a successful instructor needs to conduct a productive lesson. I would definitely recommend him! wrote on Tue, 31 May 2016
Wonderful and creative
Nigel taught beginner violin to my daughter and she had a wonderful time and progressed very far in a short amount of time. Nigel has creative and fun approaches to learning that make it perfect for younger players. I would recommend him to anyone. Clara Gulley wrote on Thu, 02 Jun 2016
Patient and Kind
Mr Nigel taught our 4th grader for just 5 months, and he was able to find the right piece of music to inspire her to (finally!?) practice every day! He was kind and patient, and genuinely wanted our little girl to be proud of her effort. He even invited her to one additional practice at Rice U with a piano player (at no charge) to be extra ready before the final performance. Seeing Mr Nigel in his element (playing his violin) was kind of inspirational for our little girl. Bummed he is no longer in town... Best of luck Mr Nigel! Evelyn Cantorna wrote on Tue, 07 Jun 2016
