Leanne H.-

During the last 9 years, Leanne has served as a member of several metro Atlanta youth orchestras, one of which she went on to become the Concertmaster of. These orchestras include: Emory Youth Symphony, DeKalb Youth Symphony, and Sinfo-Nia Youth Orchestra. In 2012, Leanne launched her solo career as “L-Stringz” where she has performed for and alongside multiple artists & dignitaries including: Representative John Lewis, Judge Glenda Hatchett, Wale, Curren$y, TKnCa$h, 50 Cent, Ashanti Floyd “The Mad Violinist”, Brooke Alford “The Vio-Socalist”, etc. Some of her notable performances include: The Atlanta Hawks, The Harlem Globetrotters, The Atlanta Dream, Capitol Hill (Washington, DC) The Ryan Cameron Foundation Father Daughter Dance, and a promotional event for “50 Cent”. Additionally, Leanne has received several awards including: Ratings of “State Superior “ for 4 years in a row at “Solo and Ensemble, 2nd Place at the Omega Si Phi Talent Competition, “Most Valued Musician” for 2 years consecutively, and the Dunwoody High School Director’s Award in 2016. Leanne also participated in the 2015 Sewanee Summer Music Festival. Additionally, Leanne was selected as the sole featured violinist at the honorary induction ceremony of Joseph Young, the new conductor of the Atlanta Youth Symphony Orchestra. Over the years she has performed nationally (Philadelphia, California, Washington, DC, etc) and internationally (Italy & Austria).Leanne also has a strong commitment and passion for leadership & volunteerism. She served as the Concertmaster of the Dunwoody High School Orchestra for the last 3 years. Leanne has been a member of the Ryan Cameron Foundations’ Leadership Academy, where she was as a peer leader for 4 years. She also served as the DHS Orchestra “Assistant Conductor”, and the “Assistant Music Director” for both Dunwoody Elementary & Peachtree Middle Schools. Leanne was the President of the Tri-M International Music Honor Society , she has served as the Youth President for NANM for 3 years. Leanne will be attending Hampton University in the fall of 2016.
