About Me

Hello I'm Brian, I am now offering guitar instruction from my home for beginners to advanced students.
I began playing guitar in 1990 mostly all Rock and Metal styles, and then later, Jazz, Fusion, Acoustic and World Music. My skills in Keyboard and Drums were acquired mostly through Composing music. I had a year of Music Theory in high school and went on to Columbia College in Chicago for 2 more years in Music Theory and Producing. I'm also a 35mm Photographer.
My experience performing includes solo and ensemble playing with bands in the chicago land area and at open mic events. I have engineered and produced my own Demos. I became a certified Luthier at Bryan Gallup's Guitar Hospital in 1999.
From 2001 to 2007 I was an independently contracted music teacher and audio video consultant for The Forum. An alternative high school for creative study. Since then i mostly have been teaching, studying and producing music,  but have new projects in the works as well.
I teach: Guitar Technique, Transcribing By Ear, Music Theory, Improvisation, Composition and Notation.
My favorite players are John McLaughlin, Allan Holdsworth, Al Di Meola, Shawn Lane, Marty Friedman, Greg Howe, Fredrik Thordendal, Prasanna
I emphasize finding your own musical path through perseverance and passion. Whatever your goals are in music, I will help you achieve them!
