Nicholas Y

My name is Nicholas. I'm a music student at the University of New Orleans. I come from an academic family, both of my parents are professors, as is my sister. I moved to New Orleans a year ago in search of better live music and have not been disappointed. For young children I prefer to teach Suzuki, as teaching them to read often bores them out of practice, whereas developing their ear makes them a more rounded musician across the board. Young adults and beginner adults I will start on beginning music theory and basic reading skills. Depending on what you want to learn to play, I can adjust my teaching style (jazz, pop, etc.) Learning classical music is the best way to learn any instrument, so I will start with that. Music preferance-wise, I enjoy playing French Impressionism and Ragtime, as they are the root of the "American sound" as we know it today.
