My name is Leah and I am a flutist/ teacher from Southern California. I earned my Bachelor's of Music in flute performance from the University of Texas at Austin in May of 2016. I have been playing the flute for over 10 years, and in that time I have performed all over the world including New Zealand, Australia, Austria, and the Czech Republic. Not only does music foster a sense of community, it allows us to express ourselves in a way that words can't. Teaching is a huge passion of mine, and I love being able to share this art with others.

I have had the pleasure of knowing Leah for the past 5 years, 2 of which she was a student of mine at Long Beach City College. She has performed in my wind ensemble and various chamber ensembles. Leah is an excellent musician, naturally talented, and is driven and always pushes herself to succeed. She possesses excellent skills as a performer, as a leader to her peers, as a teacher, and has proven her abilities in these areas time and time again. Leah has attained a high level of technique and musicianship on the flute in which she translates to her students own studies. Leah is passionate about her teaching and is goes the extra mile to ensure her students are progressing. She is organized, always on time, and dedicated. At a personal level, Leah is a sweet, polite person with a pleasant and fun personality. She is very polite and was the first student I asked if I ever needed any assistance. I enthusiastically recommend and support Ms. Heit’s application for teaching. She would be a tremendous asset to your business. Brian Hamilton wrote on Mon, 17 Oct 2016
Professor of Flute, The University of Texas at Austin Butler School of Music
I write in support of Leah H. for a position as music instructor. Leah is an intelligent, creative, and motivated individual. She is a ravishing flutist and plays with a lovely musical line. She graduated from UT Austin last spring and was a leader in the studio. She took the lead on organizing a studio benefit concert for The Initiative to Educate Afghan Women (which raised over $12,000) and offered her musical and administrative gifts on many other occasions. She is a wonderful teacher and offers her commentary sensitively and insightfully. I highly recommend her for your position. Marianne Gedigian wrote on Wed, 19 Oct 2016
