Hi, I'm John. I'm 21 years old and I've been playing guitar for eight years. I am currently in my first year of being a Music Major at CCBC in Essex. I am very passionate about music and the guitar and love all different types of music. I've always been on and off between electric guitar and acoustic guitar. My main love is the Blues although I have an extensive background in rock and pop guitar. I love working with people and helping people grow as musicians. It helps me grow as a musician myself. I am open to any genre of music and always look forward to relating with other aspiring musicians over the many types of artists we both enjoy.

John S is proficient in and teaches Guitar Lessons .Formal Education:
I am currently a full time Music student at CCBC Essex. I currently take guitar lessons with Rob Winter, the main guitar teacher in the program.
Private Education:
I've taken on and off lessons ever since I picked up a guitar with the goal of improving every day and becoming as technically sound as possible. I've taken lessons at Music Land in Bel Air with Dave Pace and Greg Mansperger. But my main instructor has been James Garafolo from Hamiltone Music. He was my first guitar teacher and I still meet with him on occasion.
Performing Experience:
I have played in a band before and performed at venues such as the Recher Theatre in Towson, MD, and Bourbon Street in Baltimore City, among other locations. I have also performed solo acoustically at these locations and other bars. Although I perform my own music from time to time I often cover artists such as Jimi Hendrix, John Mayer, The Grateful Dead, Eric Clapton and Stevie Ray Vaughan.
Experience Teaching:
I currently have no experience teaching but I have been looking for an oppurtunity over the past year and really look forward to getting a chance to work with students.
