There are many great Guitar players. Not all are great Teachers. I love Muisc theory. It's the 'language' of Music. Creates an understanding of playing Guitar, not simply 'put your Index finger here'. We always begin at the level of each Student. Building on knowledge they have. Job 1...get the Student playing. Many great popular songs are basic, and can be played by every Student. This is what has held my Student's interest, motivation. If the Student's Guitar is difficult to play, I will help making it a great Guitar. It's not a matter of expense...simple adjustments, string thickness, etc. I am happy to work with Parents in an 'Advisory' capacity to choose the best Guitar, in their price range. Teaching Guitar is far more than chord postions, and showing you how great I am... So many Students lose interest if their Guitar is difficult to play, hurts hands, etc. I have worked with People in a 'Teaching role' throughout my Life...outside of Music. My experience allows me to use everyday familiar references, analogies, etc. to aid the Student in understanding music. I am flexible. The Students interests, and goals are important in the teaching process. Encouragement. Supportive feedback. Being available to Students 'after lessons'. Always include Parents, family, in my Teaching relatiuonship with Student. I'm a Dad. My Son is a Piano player.

Experience Teaching:
Began teaching privately. 1980-2006 Part time. Began teaching while a student, found it rewarding. Continued for 26 years. My teaching over the last 10 years has been based on referrals, and if someone asks. Many students were not able to afford the Lessons... I simply continued teaching them, never mentioning money again. Sharing my Music with people is part of giving to others what I have been fortunate to receive in my Life.
