Cameron B

Cameron studied Music Education at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. He performed in the symphonic wind ensemble, jazz ensembles, jazz choir, marching band, and chamber saxophone quartets. Also, in May 2008 Cameron performed a six-concert tour of Europe. Areas included Switzerland, France, the Czech Republic and Germany. Cameron received many awards and recognition throughout high school and college. Finally, these awards included the UNO Jazz Spirit award at the annual UNO Great Plains Jazz Festival.

Cameron began playing saxophone in seventh grade, in Middle School. He also continued to play through high school, as a member of the concert band, jazz ensemble, marching band, and varsity choir. Cameron joined a newly-formed instrumental jazz/funk fusion band in Omaha, NE, called Funk Trek before finishing college. For five years he toured across the US playing at weddings, music festivals, local charity events. The band held their own festival at a farm in Nebraska City, called Hedgestock. Cameron recorded three studio albums with Funk Trek. He was a key element in the band’s signature horn section of a trumpet, trombone, and two saxophones. He was backed by lead and rhythm guitars, electric bass, drums, synthesizer, multiple hand percussion instruments, and a lead female vocal singer!
