Charles is a musician/singer songwriter from the city of Cincinnati. Charles just finished his first year at Columbia College Chicago, majoring in Music Business and is currently transferring to Trinity Christian College, to study Church Leadership & Development, and Theology. Charles has accomplished many great things in his lifespan so far and plans to achieve more. Charles began to play piano at the young age of 3. He was always ahead of the class as a kid, going further ahead of the other students. He needed a challenge, so in the 3rd grade he auditioned for SCPA and was accepted as a Visual Arts major and was later put in as a piano major during the second quarter. At the age of 12 is when Charles' career in music began to take flight. In addition to Charles being a very successful musician, he also is a very active community volunteer in the city of Cincinnati. He frequently helps the community by going out to feed the homeless in downtown Cincinnati, volunteering with the Interfaith Hospitality organization, designed to house a few families in need and help them find jobs, homes, and get stable on their feet. In addition to the Interfaith Hospitality organization, Charles donated his time by going to perform for the elderly and disabled at local nursing homes whenever he can. Charles loves to give back to the community and plans to continue to do so. Charles continues to broaden his horizons of music by studying and performing Jazz, Classical, Gospel, Broadway, Orchestral, Hip-Hop and R&B. Charles is currently arranging and composing orchestral music, big band, chorale and solo piano music.

Performing Experience:
In November of 2009, Charles was chosen to perform at the White House for Michelle Obama and National Classical Music Day. Charles, since then has performed at various venues from the Cincinnati Music Hall to musicals. Charles has performed for the Tuskegee Airmen at an appreciation event for them. He performs regularly as the pre-show entertainment at Music Hall in Cincinnati. Charles has done master classes, where he worked one-on-one with some of the world's greatest musicians (specifically pianists). These artists include; Gabriela Montero (pianist), Lang Lang (pianist), Valentina Lisitsa (pianist), Emmanuel Ax (pianist), Stewart Goodyear (pianist), Nico Muhly (Film Score Composer and Pianist), Chick Corea (Jazz Pianist), The Marsalis Family and many more. In the winter of 2011 Charles competed in the Overture Awards Competition, where he place in the Semi-Finals. In the summer of 2012, Charles competed in the World Piano Competition, where he also placed in the Semi-Finals. Charles recently performed a duo piano piece entitled "Carnival of the Animals" with the SCPA Orchestra and had an outstanding performance of Rhapsody in Blue by George Gershwin, in which he received a standing ovation. Charles also performs with many gospel artists, ranging from Fred Hammond, Byron Cage, Yolanda Adams, Kirk Franklin, Dorinda Clark-Cole and many others. Charles did a performance with the Zelenski State Music School from Poland, here in Cincinnati in March of 2013. In April, 2013 Charles, did a concert tour of Central Europe. In the fall of 2013, Charles did his debut performance with the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra, where he performed "The Lonely Man" from The Hulk Television Series. Along with performing with the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra, Charles played in the pit orchestra for the last 5 musicals that SCPA has put on. Those include; Wizard of Oz (2010), Brigadoon (2011), The Music Man (2012), Peter Pan (2013), and Joseph & The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (2014). Charles has also participated in the infamous Berklee College of Music, Five Week Summer Performance Program in the summer of 2014. This is just the beginning of Charles' musical career as he continues to grow.
