Nathan S. Ha.

I have over 20 years playing experience on drums and percussion.  Graduated from HS in 1997 after 4 years in marching band as section leader.  Immediately went into college at Missouri Western State University for my BA in music and was section leader of the drumline, during this time, I also taught drum and percussion lessons.  I left college after 2 years in order to pursue a career in music performance where I subsequently toured and worked as a "fill in" musician for projects all along the west coast and surrounding areas.  I then moved back to the Kansas City, MO metro area to work as a gigging drummer in various church "gigs" and filled in with bands around the area.  I then moved to the Denver, CO area to play with a band signed to a promotional contract on Vagrant Records where I did some regional touring and gigging and taught drum lessons as well to approximately 15 students.  After the contract ended, I moved back to the Kansas City metro area again in order to be closer to family.  At the present time, I am playing in a progressive project and working as a recruiter for a transportation firm, but I constantly make the time to play and teach...after all, music is the most important of life!  My musical influences are spread all across the board...from latin players like Santana to jazz/fusion like Spyro Gyra, metal such as Trivium and BTBAM, rock like the Doobie Brothers.  I think drumming should be an inner expression and come from the heart, and not about impressing your friends!  Music is a passion and always should be!!
