“Music is Connection” is motive. Described by many as an Inspirational, motivated, diligent, dedicated, solid, and soulful player. I began playing trumpet at age 12 having the privileged to take lessons with Gloria Estefan’s Lead trumpet player of the Miami Sound Machine, Doug Michels. I participated in various Florida state bands including All State Jazz, Symphonic, and Orchestra bands. I was also the principal trumpet of the Florida Youth Orchestra all throughout grade school and was given the prestigious Lois Deicke Award for his standard of excellence in music performance. I was also selected among hundreds of Trumpet players around the United States and Canada to participate in the 2 Grammy Band Jazz Ensemble and the 2 Next Generation Jazz Orchestra, splitting Lead Trumpet. I also participated in the Essentially Ellington Jazz Competition in New York City and the Swing Central Jazz Competition in Savannah Georgia 2 years in a row having the opportunity to perform with some of the most world-renowned musicians such as Wynton Marsalis, Wycliffe Gordon, Marcus Printup, Ted Nash, Jason Marsalis, and many other well-known musicians. A number of scholarships were granted to help further musical studies from the Gold Coast Jazz Society to attend summer camps. I currently just graduated from the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. Having the opportunity to perform in various weddings, Grand Openings, Special Events, Bars, and Private Parties around the New England area during 5-year stay in Boston.

What to expect in my

Musical facility is the first thing i want to recognize in all of students. I need to know what you are capable of before we can further discuss the goals and expectations you have. Every student need to feel comfortable enough with their teacher to demonstrate something they have learned on their own before our first lesson. what ever piece it is i want to hear what ya got! After this process i would like to always make it known that the most important thing i want all students to know is that a solid foundation on your instrument is necessary in order to achieve short term and long term goals and successes. Meaning, we will always go back to the basics in every lesson to insure that "proper technique" is being referred to. Furthermore, Once i setup a routine with students it is always important to acknowledge that music is FUN and we should be having FUN doing it! So i entertain the idea of working on repertoire or playing some chorus of the blues or other head tunes just to ensure that the student does not feel like everything we do is strict routine, theres always space for fun in every lesson!

Experience Teaching:
Former Trumpet Teacher at Boca Band Music Store. Former Artist and Residence fo summer camp at Coral Springs Middle School. I have also taught private Jazz Theory and application lessons to Students in a classrooom as clinician. Getting students to understand the theory of the chord changes being played and teaching them how to hear the chords as a form of ear trainning is specialty. Each student has his/her own way of understanding music applications and theory, it is job to find out the best way to present something new to them in a fun and interesting way to keep both the student and the teacher actively engaged. Teaching is fun when the student is getting it, but teaching is the most fun when you find a student who couldn't understand something before they had a lesson with.

I was so impressed with my Trumpet lesson with Christian. I am a 36 year old first time player and I left the lesson feeling so confident that I am going to learn how to play like Louis Armstrong!
