Barbara, graduated as a guitarist at the National School of Arts in Havana in 1983. After her subsequent incorporation as a teacher at the Vocational School of the Province of Matanzas, she was appointed Head of the Chair of Artistic Education, and a post she held until her transfer to the School Of Arts El Cucalambé, in the province of Las Tunas, where she was Head of Guitar Chair and Assistant Director of the School of Music.She also obtained dissimilar laures as composer in Festivals and Contests realized in this province.She integrated  the Cuban vocal band VOCES Female Sextet and recorded the Album VOCES, in 1996, under the BIS MUSIC/ AhíNamá  label and performing at important events and escenaries of the country, ranging from the International Jazz Festival (1995) to artistic tours by Guatemala and Costa Rica (1996), Artistic Galas of Cuban TV and national institutions.In 1996 she founded the trio CANTARELAS, which she directed also in charge of the vocalmusical arrangement, guitar and original music. She have several recorded albums, and over 15 years experience as guitar professor and musician. She has been actively involved in the cultural life of the province and the country. She was member of UNEAC since 2005 and has received recognition from the ACDAM for her outstanding work on several occasions. She was the anfitrion of an habitual space in House of the Cultural ALBA, where like host invited to different musical personalities of the country.She has been invited by the University and Houston to present a series of lectures and concerts as part of her fall course on September 2016.   In Miami she introduced herself as songwriter, guitarist and singer at her concert "At this side of the sea" performed at Xtrings Studio with artists like Pedro Alfonso, Ruben Aguiar, Lazaro Horta.As a composer she has been a finalist and / or winner of important songwriters competitions  such as the Rafael Somavilla, Matanzas, "Ribereño del Hórmigo", Las Tunas, OTI "2001 and" Adolfo Guzmán "2002 and 2005 competitions.She has also taken her music to Middle Eastern countries like Qatar and Abu Dhabi where she has been hired several times.
