I began playing drums with my father and brothers when I was 8 years old. I began playing steady gigs when I was 12 years old with my father. After graduating High School, I served in the U.S. Navy (Submarine Force). After serving in the military, I received a degree in Early Childhood Development. I have over twenty years’ experience playing drums with working bands . Additionally, I have over ten years of teaching experience in pre-Kindergarten and school-aged classrooms, including offering drum lessons and general musical instruction to my students as a part of my planned enrichment activities. I now play drums in a successful Rock Band in Knoxville, TN. I also teach lessons with my own business. My personal work with successful professional rock, country, blues, and classic rock bands has instilled in me the high value of the drummer’s ability to learn and grow musically independent from a teacher or full band. It is my hope that I can reinforce these improvisational tendencies in my students as well. My desire is to offer positive, empowering lessons that lead my students into practice habits and performance techniques tailored for maximum improvement of the individual student's skills. Music is the love of my life, along with my wife and two sons at home.
