I have been a semi-pro guitarist-vocalist for 40 years starting in NY then in Nashville for 15 years-ended up in Florida where I still perform on a regular basis. My main influences for acoustic music were James Taylor, Paul Simon, Jim Croce, America etc.... Electric influences were Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton, Mark Farner and Keith Richards.

Beginner - Intermediate
I will assess where to start once I see the dexterity and comfort level of your playing style-this is very important. Once that is established I will ask what you are looking to do in the long term ex.. learn how to read and play music, train your ears to be able to play a song your hear or follow chord charts and time signatures. I feel the best approach in the beginning is to learn some basic chords and a few scales so you can tie them together and clearly understand how chords are formed and all the different ways you can play and use them.
Formal Education:
Self Taught in music theory and ear trained.
Private Education:
Learned from other performing musicians and Instruction books.
Performing Experience:
I started playing clubs when I was 17 and continued with some touring golden oldies tribute acts. Most of my experiences are festivals, private events, and corporate functions. Played for 7 years at the Gaylord Hotel.
Experience Teaching:
Taught private guitar lessons in NY and Florida for 10 years.
