I am a music educator who teaches band and orchestra at a middle school here in Phoenix, AZ. I have been a musician for 18 years, starting with piano lessons when I was 8 and beginning drum set lessons when I was 13. I have been performing with various groups since I was in high school and throughout college. I have been a member of marching bands, jazz bands, percussion ensembles, wind ensembles, orchestras, and rock groups. In addition to my real world performance experiences, I have diverse experience has a music teacher. I have instructed multiple drumlines and I have worked as a band director for 2 years. I am an avid musician whose priority is the growth of my students.

A Positive and Passionate Instructor
A year ago Andrea W. was referred to us by my daughter’s summer school coordinator for private piano lessons. She has been instructing in our home, and has been an enthusiastic teacher, and continues to be very patient and encouraging. As I am not a musician, I have relied heavily on her guidance, and she is always receptive to any questions asked. From the beginning she outlined specific music books, pieces, and materials for study and practice, as well as offered good advice. Andrea has stressed the importance of technique, understanding music theory, and playing different styles of music. Overall I have been pleased with my daughter’s development in the last year, and know Andrea will continue to help her work through any bumps along the way. Their joint-effort has enriched our lives, and we are grateful to have such a wonderful musician and teacher to provide these lessons. All of my experience with Andrea been positive, and I would recommend her for any music instruction for adults or children.
